Nanjing, located at the centre of China’s lower Yangtse River Delta, the heart of China’s high-tech revolution, is reaching out to companies and partners in the UK. On Wednesday, 30 March the Nanjing Overseas Innovation Centre held an event at the London headquarters of the China - Britain Business Council (CBBC) to launch a new partnership programme aimed at developing high-tech business links and strengthening the innovation ecosystem between the UK and Nanjing.
The event, sponsored by Xingang High-Tech Park and organised with support from CBBC and Globaltech IP, was broadcast to a Chinese audience, with over 100 live and online attendees, and included a live roadshow that featured 8 UK companies, covering a range of sectors: healthcare, AI development, legal services, space research, STEM education and smart city technology. This roadshow is part of the GO China XG Explore China programme that provides training, matchmaking and free China landing services over a six - month period.
The programme opened with remarks from Mark Hedley, Director for Technology, CBBC, Kristina Rayko, Director, Globaltech IP and Wu Quan, Director for Nanjing Xingang High-Tech Industrial Park, and included speeches from new Nanjing Overseas Centre partners including London Royal Albert Dock (Neil Robinson, Director), British Communications Management Association CMA (Professor Rick Chandler, Chair) and OKE Club (Victor Kovalets, Founder).
Both the Nanjing Overseas Innovation Centre Partnership and GO China XG programmes have been established to provide practical support to hi-tech companies and organisations expanding their operations internationally to China and to help them navigate, partner, and avoid common pitfalls.
